Authentic Italian Meatballs

This is my Mum’s recipe. You’re welcome! Traditional Italian meatballs & tomato sugo.


Our reheat instructions are based on a standard home oven, stove and microwave. Cooking times may vary dependent on your equipment. We recommend you use the instructions as a guide only and check the internal temperature before serving. The best way to do this is to use a probe. Internal temperature must be above 75℃. If you do not have a probe, insert a knife into the centre of the product and ensure it is piping hot. You will get the best result if you defrost the meal prior to reheating. The safest way to do this is to defrost your meal in its sealed tray or pouch in your fridge for 12 to 24 hours.

Cooking Time:

17 to 22 minutes

If you receive your meal in a foil tray, reheat in oven: 

1. Preheat oven to 160C and remove foil tray from vacuum pouch. 

2. If defrosted, heat  for 15 - 17 minutes, covered. 

3. If frozen, heat for 45 – 50 minutes, covered. 

4. Carefully remove tray from oven as it will be hot. 

5. Serve and enjoy! 


If you receive your meal in a vacuum pouch, reheat in microwave: 

1. Place vacuum pouch into a microwave safe container and carefully pierce a hole in 1 corner. 

2. If defrosted, microwave for 8-10 minutes (the pouch may expand during reheating, this is normal). 

3. If frozen, microwave for 12-15 minutes (the pouch may expand during reheating, this is normal). 

4. Carefully remove pouch from microwave as the pouch will be quite hot. 

5. Serve and enjoy!

Chef Recommendations

To enhance your experience further, the chef suggests adding the following before serving:

Add some fresh torn basil leaves to garnish your dish or some finely grated pecorino cheese & boil some tagliatelle, fresh is best, as per the manufacturer’s directions. Toss your meatballs and sauce through the pasta. We recommend 200-250g raw pasta for 2 serves.
